I can’t thank you enough for the experience of purchasing my new Guru. I’ve really enjoyed working with you and listening to your thoughts and opinions on the fit process, equipment and gear (Gear is good!). Your work is obviously a great passion to you and I wish you great success with your business. I have had the opportunity to visit many shops around the country, many good ones and a number of them that are very recognizable to the triathlon community, and I have never felt more welcomed, been better educated, or enjoyed more the consumer experience as I have with you guys. As I mentioned as I was heading out the door last night, I am almost sorry that it’s over! Adam Mathews, Houston, TX "My experience with Tim and Dave at Fit Pro Bicycles in Clayton, MO has been amazing, thorough and informational, as I pursue my goals in triathlon. After healing from a back injury and wanting to compete in Ironman competitions, it is mandatory that I have the PERFECT bike fit, not only for racing but for all my training miles. Tim and Dave are exceptionally knowledgeable, honest, very patient and kind and have shown me the utmost respect as an age-group triathlete. I will strongly recommend Tim and Dave to any of my friends with bike issues, or friends hoping to find that "sweet spot" on their bike! They know about speed too! You just tell them what you want to accomplish and your goals will become their goals - They told me they want every rider to feel comfortable and enjoy the ride .... I truly believe Tim and Dave will always put their customers' satisfaction as their top priority. THANK YOU TIM AND DAVE! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME AND I'LL BE BACK AGAIN!" Sincerely,
Karla Lang
Boonville, MO. "Tim and Dave are without doubt the best guys to know if you are into cycling! Tim first helped me attain a proper fit when I bought my first road bike from a different shop two years ago. Being a novice in the sport, I thought cycling was supposed to be uncomfortable. However, the transformation was amazing and soon I needed more. After riding with Dave every Saturday morning for several months, I also soon got to know him. In a few words...he is a stand-up guy who really loves and knows everything about bikes. I soon traded in my entry level bike and bought a premium carbon bike from Dave. This past year I started experiencing some knee pains which I attributed to lack of sufficient riding during the winter and a bit of overzealousness on the hills. I went into Fitpro a few weeks ago to get fitted for another bike I picked up on-line. Besides from making those adjustments, Tim recognized and made some changes to my cleat alignments (I had bought a new pair of shoes over the past year and assumed that the cleats were correctly positioned by the sales person) while Dave tuned up my new baby. Since then I have been rolling pain-free over the hills and cranked out my first century for the season in under five hours! So whether you are just getting into cycling or wanting to improve anything about your riding (performance, comfort, equipment, etc.), I am convinced Fit Pro Bicycles is the place to go. Tim and Dave are the ultimate secret weapon that every cyclist is searching for...and now in one convenient location!" Lee Choo-Kang, M.D. Wildwood, MO Dave and Tim, "I just wanted to thank both of you for your help yesterday. I was very impressed with the knowledge and professionalism that your shop had shown me. I will pass on to others the experience that I had at your shop. Thank you again." Josh Heihn, Local Road Bike Racer Dear FitPro Bicycles: Tim and Dave I wanted to thank you for the time you both spent with me fitting my bike and the VO2 testing. It is nice to know someone still cares in the Saint Louis market about my comfort and what is good for me, without trying to pressure me into selling me something I don’t need. Tim, you exceeded my expectation on my fit once again, with the CompuTrainer, I am in such a more comfortable position, I have more power with less effort, and it is awesome. I needed a new seat post from Kuota and even though you were not a dealer, you made the call to another dealer and got it for me. Watching me on the Dartfish disc, you burned, was great feedback and I could actually see my pedal stroke and how to improve it. Tim: above and beyond what I expected. Dave thanks for the VO2 tests. With my surgery in February, I have put on some weight, and the resting test was a great way to see how many calories I need and how many to cut out to lose some weight. The running VO2 was an awesome way to get my real Heart rate zones. This will help me stay in my Zone 2 to build my base and not over train or go too hard, to early. Dave it was great the time you spent with me analyzing the data and working with me on some specific things to get back in shape. You always hear about companies talking service, but you and Tim delivered it. Dave Thanks for coming in on your day off: these things are what will move FIT PRO to the front of the bicycle community. Jim Milner
IRONMAN Hi Tim and Dave, Just wanted to thank you for all your hard work on both fixing my bike and the fit. The ride feels really awesome now and oh-so-much quieter! It is like having a new bike. Thanks too for the advice you provided and subsequent safety concerns after discovering how bad the chain was – I really had no idea. I will be sure to be more proactive in bringing my bike in to you for regular maintenance! Thanks again and safe riding! Stephanie Tuttle, Local Triathlete First, Just let me say, I'm not a pro cyclist, I don't have a CAT rating, I'm not even a triathlete. I'm just a guy who likes to ride. I been to every bike shop in town, but no one gives you the personal service and such attention to detail as Tim and Dave at Fitpro. This all started because my saddle was in the wrong spot. That got me thinking about what else needed to be adjusted. I have to tell you, my back doesn't hurt, my bum feels great, and I'm a better rider because I can now think about riding, not about when the ride will be over. Thanks Again. Derek AKA Dieter Frontenac, Mo. I recently saw Dave and Tim at FitPro Bicycles and had a Level 2 Fit. I started riding almost four years ago and I thought I was in a proper position on the bike. I thought it was normal to have lower back and neck pain after long rides. I was wrong on both counts. Tim made numerous adjustments to include my cleat position, saddle height, knee position over the pedals, and reach. I was also fitted for insoles. When I was tested on their CompuTrainer, I was a little surprised to see myself spinning flat inefficient ovals. Tim explained the proper pedaling technique to spin efficient circles, however, it didn't become obvious until I was able to see it on a computer screen while I was actually learning the correct way to pedal. Since the Fit, lower back, neck, and knee pain have been eliminated. Additionally, my power and efficiency have increased substantially, especially on climbs. My Opera Leonardo and I now function as one. Mille grazie per tutti! K. Consentino St. Louis, MO. I went to FitPro Bicycles (a club sponsor) this weekend for a fit and "race ready" tuneup for my bike. No surprise: both Tim and Dave were great. This is my 2nd year with the bike based on Tim's previous recommendations and fit, and it is commerce at its finest: a quality job from a trustworthy guy, at a reasonable rate. I haven't had a chance to go for a long haul on the bike yet but a quick spin proved that it feels fantastic. thumbs up for FitPro! Mike ps. Tim still has a dog, Rocky, who is one of the most gentle, gregarious dogs I've ever seen. I'm not a big dog person but Rocky just wins you over ;-) Fun... Today at the Alligator Creek Triathlon, I used my new bike for the first time in a race. I am happy to say that I cut 7 minutes off my bike time from last year. And, I was the 2nd fastest on the bike in my age group. I felt very comfortable throughout the ride. I'm really loving that bike seat. I was working with Jennifer on Saturday on bike mounts and dismounts. She commented that I looked very comfortable on the bike and that it seemed to fit me perfectly. Thanks again Terri J. Fellow triathletes I have good news and bad news. The good news is that you have just found a shop with two fantastic people with amazing expertise. I just bought a new custom Guru Tri'Ti from Tim and Dave. Tim took the time to really get all of the measurements dialed in for the new frame and the overall fit of the bike. Dave did an awesome job of getting it together and getting it mechanically sound. Some of the DA came from my old P3, I didn't think those parts came clean anymore! As for the Tri'Ti, nothing short of spectacular, hands down no comparison between that and the P3... What's the bad news then? I am not sure there will be anything to look forward to when I get my next bike, not that I am thinking about that:) Thanks Tim and Dave you guys are awesome... Happy riding, Andrew Eaton Avvid Triatlete and STL Tri Club Member. Last Friday, I took my bike and shoes and visited Fitpro Bicycles in Clayton. SWEET JESUS I rode 50 miles last Saturday and NO numb feet. We may still need to perform some tweaks, but at least 70% of the discomfort was gone!! After much discussion and observation, they adjusted my seat height (higher), fore/aft (forward), cleat alignment and finally what we are still tweaking they had me wear some Aline footbeds (insoles). If you recall, I had already had a bike fit at another well known LBS, but the numbness had persisted... even after a second visit. All I can say is that Dave and Tim gave me exceptional personalized service. You would have thought their feet were numb as they were determined to make me ride in comfort ... that experience was what I would call Ritz Carlton kinda of treatment. Fitprobicycles.com kudos on your superior business model. Thanks again for the awesome fit and build on the Javelin Lugano! The bike is very comfortable and performed well for me at Ironman Wisconsin…now if only I had a better engine. Thanks again for all of your efforts! Scott Varwig "Hey, I just wanted give you guys a big thanks for the bike fit last Wednesday. I had my first century last Saturday and it went great! I had none of the discomforts I had prior to the fit. I really thought my low back would be hurting by the end of the ride but it wasn't, not at all. Again, a big thanks!" Gerry Mitchell "Well, as someone who has to always be careful of how I spend and where it goes, I still feel like I got a bargain yesterday. You guys were incredible! I really appreciate all the time you took to listen, fit, and help me in future bike and part decisions. I went out today and got some miles in and it was great. I even picked up a new best all-time high cadence in my little training gear(44/18) on the fixie. So I am really excited about how all of this is going to translate to the spring. This is year three of a five year plan and this definitely got it off to the perfect start. Thanks again for all of the knowledge, stories, life wisdom, and your patience." Mike "Thanks so much for spending so much time getting me fitted correctly on all three of my bikes. Doing all the long distance IM training and races I know how important the correct fit is. No matter how great the bike is, if it doesn't fit correctly things won't go well. I rode my training bike 3 hours, 40 minutes on the trainer and all felt great! I got off and ran 15 minutes on the treadmill and, I must say, the run felt better than the others I have done after a long ride on the trainer. You guys are great! I never felt rushed and learned a lot while I was there." Jane Klutenkamper |
